Bearing Load

Load capacities of bearings are stated in the bearing catalogues. The load capacity is not an absolute guide to how much load a bearing will handle under any circumstances. Rather, it is a figure used in conjunction with the actual applied load to enable determination of bearing fatigue life.

The dynamic load capacity of a bearing is the load that should theoretically result in a bearing fatigue life of 1,000,000 revolutions under ideal conditions. So you can see that a bearing could theoretically accept a higher load if you don’t expect the bearing to last for 1,000,000 revolutions.

The static load capacity of a bearing applies to bearings that rotate at less than 10 revolutions per minute.

Load capacities may be expressed in either Newtons (N) or Kilograms Force (KGf). One KGf is equivalent to 9.8065 N.
