Recoil helically-wound thread inserts are formed from 18-8 (Type 304) Stainless Steel. The wire in most sizes has a tensile strength of greater than 200,000 P.S.I. and a finish better than 32 micro inches.
Helicoil sets include 3 lengths of 1x, 1.5x and 2x the thread diameter. Also included is a tap, an installation tool, a drill and a tang removal tool packed in a sturdy plastic case.

Keylocking inserts are used to repair threads by tapping the worn thread to a standard larger thread, twisting the insert into place and then driving in the keys to lock the insert. Also known as keenserts.
Each kit contains an installation tool and the quantity of inserts shown. One size per kit. Also known as keenserts, keylocking inserts are available in mild steel and stainless steel. Installation is by drilling out the old thread, countersinking, tapping new thread with a standard tap, screwing the insert until slightly below the surface, then tapping down the keys using the tool supplied and a hammer.

Extracting tools are used to remove helicoil inserts. This is done by applying the tool to the insert, striking the tools head and turning it counter-clockwide.

As the insert is installed the threaded section is completely swaged into the sleeve portion of the hole, permitting them to be used with grade 8 screws. Shaft diameter should be +0.000 / - 0.076 mm for best performance. Knob is held in place by a ribbed insert that squeezes onto the shaft. Eliminates machining costs. Knobs will not come off with normal use but can be removed by knocking with a hammer on the underside.
