Tooling Balls
440C Hardened to RC 55-58.
Ball and shank are concentric within 5 microns (0.0002 in.) TIR. Weld between ball and shank is designed so the ball will fall off if subject to unusually heavy lateral force, preventing set up and inspection errors that may occur because of a bent shaft. This category may be available in the new MBA online store at

Housings with Bearing
Full stainless steel bearing units are the best solution for hostile chemical washdown applications. All metal bearing insert components are a combination of 302, 304 and 440 stainless steel. Seals are silicone rubber. Grease is H-1 food grade.
Operating temperature minus 20 oC to +120 deg C. Solid 304 stainless housings have a machined base and extremely smooth surface finish, essential for demanding washdown installations. These housings do not experience flaking, cracking or discolouration and are virtually unaffected by scrapes. Bearings are removable. Food grade.
Thermoplastic housed units offer a more favourable economic choice. Stainless steel bearings offer a high level of corrosion resistance and all metal parts are made from either 302, 304 or 440C stainless steel.
Operating temperature minus 20 oC to +95 deg C. Thermoplastic hosuings are offwhite and are made from glass reinforced PBT resin. Favourable chemical resistance. Very resistant to moisture absorption. Excellent mechanical, thermal and electrical properties. All sleeves, bushings and grease fittings are 300 grade stainless steel. Food grade.

Steel or 303 Stainless Steel as indicated in the tables. Also known as keenserts.
Steel or 303 Stainless Steel as indicated in the tables. Maximum strength and reliability. Positive mechanical lock against rotation:. The insert kees are driven down into the tapped threads of the parent material during installation to securely lock the insert against rotation. Inserts with internal thread lock are designed to securely lock a bolt when it is entered into the insert only a few turns.

3 Piece Thrust Bearings Open Type with Flat Washers
These bearings are designed so that when one ring turns, the other remains stationary. Some have a larger bore on one side allowing a shaft with no steps to pass through. Others will require a stepped shaft as they have the same bore on both races. Some have a reduced size OD on one race allowing it to sit into an unstepped housing bore, whilst others will require a stepped housing to allow one ring to rotate. Please be sure to take note of the figures shown for ID and OD of both races to ensure you select the correct bearing. This category may be available in the new MBA online store at
