Cages on some high speed bearings

A plastic cage material formed by the reaction of phenol and formaldehyde. Standard SPB phenolic cages are either paper filled (KB type) or fabic filled (KC type). Phenolics have high impact strength, excellent wear characteristics, and dimensional stability up to around 110^oC. Phenolic cages, being less susceptible to vibration and speed are used in bearings for high speed and high precision applications.

Bearings listed in the SPB online catalogue with high speed cages may have various types of synthetic cage material. Look for the part codes which incorporate "KB" or "KC" to find items with Phenolic Cages.
