Johnny’s ThingaMeJiggit Stops Working
Johnny has some good times using his ThingaMeJiggit at the club. It’s just as good as the one the new bloke bought locally for twice the price.
8 weeks later, and the Scourge Protector melts rendering the whole ThingaMeJiggit useless. Johnny is devastated.
The new bloke sees Johnny is having a problem and wanders over to cheer him up. "Don’t worry about that mate, same thing happened to mine last week. Took it back to the shop and they replaced it under warranty with this new titanium plated one. It’s definitely a warranty job that one".
Johnny thanks the new bloke and says that he will definitely be claiming warranty. However, Johnny has already read up on the warranty procedure for his cheap online ThingaMeJiggit store, and he knows that claiming warranty won’t be an option. They might even refuse the warranty, blaming Johnny for the breakage due to his makeshift repairs to the Tucksle.
That night Johnny goes online and buys another $85.00 ThingaMeJiggit from Online ThingaMeJiggits. He’s not about to pay those exhorbitant prices charged by the local stores. Besides, when the new one arrives he can tell everyone at the ThingaMeJiggit club that he had the old one fully replaced under warranty and they will all keep thinking he is very clever.
The tax losses mount up and Johnny and the Government go along on their merry way thinking everything is just fine. When new taxes are introduced to plug the shortfalls neither Johnny nor the Government will think they had anything to do with it. The Government will blame "unforeseen circumstances" and Johnny will blame the Government.
